Dog Sledding Demonstration at the Library

The Libraries here in our area have a lot of neat programs. We went to a lot of them during the summer. This month they had a dog sledding guy come in and do a demonstration.
Showing us the sleds and snowshoes.
An anchor - very important so your team doesn't leave you behind!
The kids were all bundled up, preparing to be outside, so by the end of the inside portion of his talk, the room was starting to smell like a locker room!
He dressed up a kid in the gear you'd wear.
Pretty thick and warm stuff!

Then we got to go outside and see his team of dogs. They are sure beautiful creatures!
He said that his dogs are direct descendents of Balto, a dog they did a movie about one time (but who wasn't part wolf in real life.)
Cosette liked the dogs. Sadie wouldn't go near them.
It was pretty cold outside, but it was a really neat experience to go. He ran the sled around the yard once with a couple of young riders on it.
It was neat to learn how God has equipped these dogs to live in such conditions!
