Malachi played basketball this year with Upwards. He's the oldest he can be with this group which is why he decided to play and not swim this year.
He improved a lot in the short season. It only lasts 9 weeks. January and February basically. Awards were first week of March.
At first, his nickname was "The Gentle Giant." He wasn't very aggressive for being so big out there!
But, by the middle to end of the season, he got more aggressive and learned how to use his size to his advantage.
Sometimes, the score was close, sometimes we lost bad, sometimes we won big. Ended up being a pretty even season.
Here's Malachi playing against someone who was on Cale's football team in the Fall! How funny!
This group has cheerleaders too. So cute!
They open all their games with prayer. We love the emphasis on the Lord.

Malachi's team. Mark didn't coach since I was due in the middle of the season.
March 4 - the end of year program. Grandma and Grandpa M came into town today to visit from Wichita, KS, so they got to see this too.
There was a great juggler, Jesse Joyner, who presented the Gospel of Christ. He did a great job.
