Fall Color and Harbor Tour

previous tour page

Continuing our journey with Grandma and Grandpa M, after picking them up in Whitehall, MI, we drove up the coast looking at the harbors they had mapped out and planned on sailing to.  It was chilly, overcast, and windy (all the reasons that they pulled the boat from the water.) but it was beautiful.

The waves crashing over a jetty.

Fall colors were wonderful!  What amazing seasons God gives us!

Cute little covered bridge.

Glen Lake (I think)

Sleeping Bear Sand dunes. It was very windy and therefore cold! We weren't really dressed for this kind of cold, brrrr!

Watch your step!  That is a big dune to slide down to the water!

This boardwalk was very interesting.  There's a section out there in the middle that was completely calm and wind free!  But it wasn't that there was a wind block, it was more like the wind diverted underneath it and left a calm area.  It was rather fascinating.

Looking out you can see the Manitou Islands.  Those were where G&G where hoping to get to on their voyage.  Oh well.  Another time, perhaps.

All the rest of the kids and Grandma had given up and gone back to the van.  Cale was the only trooper hanging on at this point.

Then Mandi gave up and gave the camera to Mark.  This picture turned out really cool.
